Richard S. Burns & Co. is a waste recycling and recovery facility founded in the 1960s. At the time, it started as a one person cleanout, operating on only three quarters of an acre. As they began finding new options and applications for the recyclable materials, the business grew and Richard S. Burns, its founder, began buying adjacent properties to expand the new facility. Ahead of his time, he applied the concept of green building. He was able to salvage and recycle materials from those newly acquired properties and use them to develop the new Burns facility.
