Liebherr will for the first time be sponsoring the Stihl® Timbersports® World Championship, to be held on September 7 and 8, 2012 in Lillehammer, Norway.
The Stihl® Timbersports® Series is the leading worldwide competition series for professional lumberjacks. It has been organized since 1985 by Stihl, the manufacturer of high-quality chain saws and outdoor power tools. Once a year individual and team competitions for the world championship are held. Liebherr is sponsoring the current world champion Jason Wynyard from New Zealand, and the Australian team. Up to 10,000 spectators are expected at the world championship in September, a major event that will also be shown in TV.
Liebherr has a high reputation all over the world for quality products with which professionals can work safely and efficiently. Similar high performance and technical precision are called for in the Stihl® Timbersports® Series. The two family-owned companies Stihl and Liebherr have now begun long-term cooperation on this international sport event. For Liebherr, this commitment is an opportunity for positive public brand identification. Stronger media presence will boost the emotive response to the brand, improve public awareness still further and promote brand approval. This Liebherr sponsoring activity is also an additional tool to reach target groups effectively.
Jason Wynyard from New Zealand is the 2011 world champion in the Stihl® Timbersports® Series, and is one of the Series’ top athletes who will be representing the Liebherr brand in future.
